Animal Licensing

All dogs that are living in South Ogden City need to be licensed. It is a yearly license. Licenses are purchased from the South Ogden Police Department located at 3950 S Adams Ave before March 1st to avoid a late fee.

When you come in to purchase a South Ogden Dog License, please bring the current rabies vaccination certificate and proof of sterilization (spay or neuter certificate) to the South Ogden Police Department . Those animals that have been sterilized receive a discount on their licenses. We also offer a senior discount. Without your current rabies vaccination proof your dog will not and cannot be licensed.

There is one way to avoid the yearly registration and that is to purchase the lifetime license. The lifetime license is good for the lifetime of the dog. All you would have to do after purchasing the lifetime license is make sure that we always have the valid rabies certificate when it is renewed. To be eligible for the lifetime license the dog must be spayed or neutered and have a micro chip.  Our animal services officers can micro chip your dog if needed.

A license not only provides the public with proof of ownership and vaccination, it also provides your beloved pet a phone call home if it gets lost. Please take a few minutes and make sure your dog is properly registered, IT IS THE LAW.
